A useful starting point. An honest one, too.

Here’s how to read the directory and what to check before you go.

What the directory includes

Thrift Rush includes recorded thrift shops, vintage and resale stores, consignment shops, reuse centers and donation locations. The current site uses a prepared collection of listing records. It is a partial directory, not a complete list of every store in an area.

A place appears in a category when that category is recorded for the location. A missing category does not mean the store never carries that kind of item. Stock changes, and a directory cannot show what is on the shelf today.

What a listing can tell you

Listings can include an address, phone number, website, recorded hours, shopping categories, and donation or selling information. A field appears only when information is available. Missing hours do not mean a store is closed.

We separate shopping destinations from donation-only centers. Donation and selling details describe recorded services; they are not a guarantee of acceptance, a collection booking or a purchase offer.

How stores are ordered

Lists start with the stores most likely to be worth the trip. We weigh each store’s rating against its number of reviews, so a 4.7 from hundreds of people ranks above a 5.0 from two. Listings with a website, hours and a phone number get a small lift. Places that look less like secondhand shops, such as a cafe with a small resale corner, rank lower, and stores marked temporarily closed come last. You can re-sort any list by name, reviews or rating.

What still needs a direct check

Check the location’s own website or call before making a trip that depends on a particular detail. This is especially useful for holiday hours, item acceptance, pickup arrangements, accessibility, large purchases and consignment terms.

Inclusion does not mean that a store has been visited or independently inspected. A listing is not a verified-owner badge, an endorsement, or a promise about the goods or services offered.

Help make the details clearer

Each store page links to a correction form with its listing reference. Describe the specific detail that needs updating and, where possible, include a supporting page from the store itself.

Online submissions are not open in this prelaunch version. The form lets you keep an unsent draft. Saving a draft does not notify Thrift Rush or change the listing.
